Finally, I would do a demo or even trial (if possible) each of the top 5 or 10 solutions, putting them through their paces to see what works best for me - all of this will enable me to pick the right one.

A few months ago, I was chatting with the CEO of an AR/VR company (augmented reality/ virtual reality) on the topic of employee learning in the future. His idea of putting applicants and employees in real life working situations through AR/VR experiences changed my perspective of talent identification, onboarding, and on-going employee training.
Their team was providing AR/VR software, tools and equipment used by HR managers to test and assess applicants in real world working scenarios and train employees on new products, manufacturing methods, and even complex problem-solving techniques.
The company was also thinking about using AI software to manage employee learning across their entire organisation. The use of AI for employee evaluation would allow them to remove subjectivity from performance reviews, assess data to better solve employee probmes, assess employees skillsets, identify strengths, and in the future could even map out career paths in a more effective way than ever before.
This is the future. But as advanced as technology has become, tools used by HR managers today are still relatively simple. Most of the tools used in human resources management today are relatively low tech. The most basic tool of all is a good old-fashioned spreadsheet. Spreadsheets allow you to capture details such as name, address, phone number, and skillset for each applicant or employee and create scorecards for each one of them.

3. Does it provide insights tailored to you? For instance, if diversity hiring is important to you, does this platform help you achieve this goal? Look for tools that can generate actionable insights, customized reports, and track trends in order to help you get a better understanding of your employees and their performance.
4. Is it affordable? I know we talked about this earlier, but this is a big one. You'll want to make sure you're getting the most bang for your buck - and that doesn't always mean paying top dollar. There are many great HR tools and techniques out there that come with low per month or per user price tags and offer features and insights you can depend on.
5.Is it Secure and Compliant? This should also go without saying, but you'll want to be sure the platform you're using is secure; protecting applicant data, and compliant with relevant privacy laws before signing any deals.
6.Is it automation friendly? As we move into the future, the more work that we can delegate to Ai, ML, AR/VR, and other high tech tools, the better. Look for platforms that are innovative and offer automation features, such as automatic scheduling and automated reminders. This way, you can use your time to focus on more engaging tasks while the technology takes care of the mundane ones.
Ultimately, no HR tool is a magic wand that will solve all your problems overnight, but with a stack of tools seamlessly integrated to create an effective workflow, you can make sure your HR team is spending their time where it matters most. Technology has come a long way in the world of HRM, and there are tons of amazing tools that can help you elevate your game!
